Charting Your Post-Tenure Possibilities:
Faculty Development Program

Participant Requirements

You are a faculty member who is going up for currently or has recently received tenure and are interested in figuring out what’s next for your career, personally and professionally.

You’re someone who has worked so hard, and you’ve successfully achieved that goal of promotion and tenure. And perhaps now that you’ve gotten that box checked, you’re looking around and asking yourself, “So now what?” or “I worked so hard for this, but why?” or some variation of that theme. You’re interested and open to engaging in self-work, but also engaging with colleagues in conversations about what post-tenure life might look like.

You will commit to connecting with other participants in the program in small group pods for 45 minutes at least once a month, facilitated by your coach. These meetings will be arranged based upon times you provide for your availability.

You will commit to meeting with your coach at minimum once a month, but preferably twice a month for optimal learning and accountability.

You must be willing to also have fun and be bold! We are going to do great work together this spring.

Learn More About This Program

  • You’ll be coached by Dr. Dan Tillapaugh, associate professor and chair of counselor education at California Lutheran University and leadership/heartwork coach with Coeurwork Coaching. We’ll start with a 90-minute discovery session in February and then you’ll meet with Dan in a monthly 50-minute coaching sessions through May 2023. Participants who wish to have an additional 50-minute coaching sessions each month are able to choose the “add-on” package for the program fee.

Our work together will center on your work as a post-tenure faculty member. Every person’s situation and circumstances are different. Dan understands this and brings his knowledge of higher education to his work as your coach. Nothing’s off the table here. Working on time management, setting boundaries, navigating university politics, addressing challenges, thinking about your professional career (whether that’s still in higher ed or shifting to a new setting)…and more! Whatever you need to discuss, you have the chance to identify what your agenda is with Dan and craft intentions and a plan to meet your intended outcomes for this coaching work.

  • After registering for the program, you will provide your availability and be assigned to a small pod of no more than 6 other participants. Your pod will meet once a month for 45 minutes between February and May and engage in group coaching with one another, facilitated by your coach.

Program Costs
